Vintage Kutch Embroidery Chakla Pair • Ahir Heer Silk Textile Art

$489.00

This is an ultra-rare pair of authentic Chatriya Ahir “Heer” embroidery Chakla, hand-embroidered in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India, more than 50 years ago.

Each square Chakla is meticulously crafted using pure silk thread, showcasing the classic Heer geometric grid pattern—a highly skilled embroidery technique traditionally practiced by the Ahir (Chatriya) community. Today, this original technique and quality are almost extinct and no longer produced.

These Chakla were historically used as ceremonial textile panels—often part of dowry collections or interior décor in Ahir homes. The precision of the motifs, vibrant yet naturally aged colors, and dense hand stitching clearly reflect old-generation craftsmanship, not modern revival work.

This listing is for a matching PAIR, which significantly increases its rarity and collectible value.
